
Mr. Anthony L. Puleo, 81 of Somerville, formerly of East Cambridge and Boston’s North End died on Saturday in Youville Hospital, Cambridge. He was the husband of the late Mafalda “Mal” (Corriere) Puleo. Born in Boston, son of the late Salvatore and Carmella (Venezia) Puleo. Mr. Puleo was raised in Boston’s North End and East Cambridge where he attended local schools. He is U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. In earlier years he worked for Wilson Foods, and the former Nepco Foods as a meat packer. He was employed by M.I.T. in Cambridge as a grounds keeper for over 15 years, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and is a former member of the Sons of Italy in Cambridge and the Dante Club of Somerville. He leaves a daughter Gail J. D´Ovidio and her husband John of Medford and a son Salvatore Puleo and his wife Deborah of Revere. Loving grandfather of Christina A. Puleo of Revere. Dear brother of Josephine Sacoco of Stoneham, Lee Puleo of Boston,Larry Puleo of Medford and the late Etta Perricotti, Lucy Giammanco, Betty Ryder, Gus and Sal Puleo. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 10 am followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
