Mary “Mae” (Camara Cambra) Vadeboncoeur, age 84, of Somerset passed away at home in her sleep peacefully on August 8, 2008. Wife of Henry Vadeboncoeur & daughter of the late Joseph & Mary (Branco) Cambra. Born in Fall River, she was a Somerset resident for 60 years. She worked at Firestone as a helmet inspector & then attended the Fall River Style Academy before owning Mae’s Beauty Salon in Ocean Grove, Swansea and later Mae’s House of Beauty in Somerset. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church and a charter member of the National Gardening Club. She and her husband celebrated their 64th anniversary in October.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 children: Richard Vadeboncoeur and Betty Correia both of Somerset; 1 brother: Joseph Camara of Somerset; 6 grandchildren: Stacey Nunes, Denise Cunha, Kim Correia Phillips, Brian Vadeboncoeur, Kelly Jean Correia and Mark Edward Correia; 7 great grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late William Camara and had 1 late great grandchild.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Tuesday at 8:45 A.M. with services in the Grace Gospel Church, at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Monday 4-8 P.M.
