Obituary

Ellen (Wrinkle) Kearns, a resident of Andover, Massachusetts, since 1958 and beloved wife of the late Donald Kearns, died on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Ellen was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on November 25, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late John T. and Mary A. Wrinkle. She was a graduate of the American International College Class of 1945 and later taught chemistry at the college, until her marriage to the love of her life, Donald Kearns who predeceased her in death after almost 60 years together. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible in the Wrinkle family home in Mill River, MA in the Berkshires. She loved all children and shared with them her love of books, poems and “The Sound of Music”. She had a strong faith and was an active member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in West Andover for many years. She put the Christian principals of compassion and love for others above worldly concerns.
She will be sorely missed by her six beloved children; Frank Kearns, Mary Childs, Catherine “Betty” Kearns, Emily Kearns, Jeremiah Kearns and Dorothy Gosselin, 10 beloved grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister; Nancy Walsh. She was predeceased by her son, John Kearns and two brothers; George and Lawrence Wrinkle.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Michael Church, 190 Main Street, North Andover, Friday, August 1, 2008, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held on Thursday, July 31, 2008, in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
