Catherine M. Fancy, 64, of Derry, NH, died Friday, August 8, 2008 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mrs. Fancy was born in Medford, MA on January 11, 1944, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary A. (McNamara) Mayo. She was a resident of Derry since 1967, formerly living in Medford, MA. Mrs. Fancy was a very sociable person, and loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed shopping, arts and crafts, and knitting.
She is survived by her husband, David W. Fancy of Derry; two daughters, Michelle B. Chase and her husband Stephen of Derry, and Rene C. Berube and her husband Mark of Epsom, NH; one son, Adam Fancy of Manchester, NH; two grandsons, Tanor Chase of Derry, and Andrew Berube of Epsom; three sisters, Ilene Runser of Salem, MA, Mary Leblanc of Salem, NH, and Bernadette Coakley of Medford, MA; two brothers, Tom Mayo of Salem, and Brendon Mayo of Dover, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Sunday, August 10th from 12 noon - 4 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A funeral service was held on Monday at 10:00am in the funeral home, with cremation following.
