Mary A. (Cordeiro Affonse) Ferreira, age 104 of Somerset. Widow of Joseph S. Ferreira, Sr. & daughter of the late Manuel Cordeiro Affonse & Victoria (Raposa) Cordeiro Affonse. Passed away Aug. 7, 2008. Born in Fall River, she was a Somerset resident for 37 years. She was a member of St. John of God Church & a former member of the Church of Our Savior Seniors’ Club. She was a retired weaver at Sagamore Mills.
She is survived by 1 son: Joseph S. Ferreira, Jr. & his wife Adilia “Dee” M. Ferreira of Somerset; 4 grandchildren: Linda M. Viveiros, Chief Joseph Ferreira of the Somerset Police Dept., Cheryl A. Cote & David Ferreira; 6 great grandchildren: Katelyn, Julie & Danielle Ferreira, Jason Viveiros, Christopher & Chelsea A. Cote & several nieces & nephews. She was sister of the late Manuel, John & Antone Cordeiro Affonse, Gilda Alves, Lena Pereira & Eva Viana.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 9A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 PM.
