ALLEN, DAVID WAYNE, 48, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Kindred Hospital, due to ALS. He was a retired officer of the U.S. Army, serving 19 years. He also served eight years with the Louisville Metro Police Department. He volunteered in scouting for 10 years, during that time he was assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 25 and Scoutmaster for Troop 5. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ruth Janel Allen; children, Derek, Sean and Kelsey Allen; mother, Margaret Griego; a brother, Danny Allen; a sister, Ginger Davis; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Betty Kremer; a sister-in-law, Lea Ann Tidwell, and brother-in-law, Doug Kremer. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 p.m until 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association, in memory of David Allen.
