JOSEPHINE V. TORO
JOSEPHINE V.(VELAZQUEZ) TORO, age 95, died Saturday Aug. 2, 2008 at St. Joseph' Home in Dorchester following a lengthy illness. Born in Vieques, Puerto Rico, Mrs Toro had been a resident of New York City for many years as well as Florida and then in Lajas, Puerto Rico before moving to Dorchester 8 years ago. While living in New York, Mrs Toro was employed by The Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
Joesephine was the beloved wife of the late Luis C. Toro. She is survived by her son; Edward and Edward's wife Margaret "Peg" Toro of Dorchester, 2 Grandsons; Gregory and David Toro and several nieces and nephews and half-siblings. She was the mother of the late Sylvia Stanco and the sister of the late Joseph Velazquez. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the O'Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester on Friday evening Aug. 8, 2008 from 5 - 7 P.M. followed by a Funeral Service at 7 P.M. Interment will take place in the family mausoleum in Lajas, Puerto Rico. Donations in Josephine's memory may be made to your favorite charity. Online condolences and guest book are available.
