Obituary

DRACUT - Tony Furnari, 81, a long time Dracut resident died peacefully Sunday evening at his home. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Sarah R. (Kane) Furnari of Dracut.

Born in Andover on February 24, 1927, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Cavallo) Furnari. He received his education in the Andover school system.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the United States Army.

Mr. Furnari was employed for 30 years by the former Prince Spaghetti in Lowell as an Engineer and Plant Foreman before retiring in 1987.

A self made man he enjoyed residential construction in his spare time and also time spent in the company of his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Rose and Frederick Pavelka of Dracut; one son and daughter-in-law Tony and Dawn Furnari of Dracut; four grandchildren Angela and Jennifer Pavelka and Michael and Stephanie Furnari; one great granddaughter Hailey Madison Pavelka; one sister Rose Hurley of Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Samuel Furnari who predeceased him in 1995 and brother and brother-in-law of the late Alfred Furnari and Connie and Anthony Caruso.

Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 AM followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 AM in St. Michael's Church, Lowell. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
