Andrew C. Irwin, 61, of Acushnet died July 31, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Beverly A. (Settlemire) Irwin.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Haldane Irwin and Rosamond (Cory) Miller, he lived in Acushnet all of his life.
Mr. Irwin was a member of the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church.
He was presently employed by St. Luke's Hospital for 25 years. Prior to that he was employed at States Nightwear for 20 years.
Mr. Irwin enjoyed playing softball, golf and bowling in Sunday Night leftovers bowling league and Cozy Cove Marina Monday Night league. He enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots.
He was a devoted husband and a loving father.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Tammie Irwin of Harwich and Meloney Irwin of Acushnet; 4 brothers, Haldane Irwin of Missouri, Wayne Irwin of New Bedford, Douglas Irwin of Texas and Peter Miller of Florida; several nieces and nephews; many extended family members and friends.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 4th at 10 AM in the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, August 3rd from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
