Pauline E. Allard of 303 Rhodes Ave. passed away peacefully on Saturday July 26th at the Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Albert A. Allard. She was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Elphege and Blanche (Fontaine) Mandeville. A life lone resident, she lived for many years on Burnside Ave.
She was educated in schools in the Province of Quebec, Canada. Pauline was employed for many years at the former Social Department Store as office manager and personel supervisor. She is remembered as a kind and thoughtful supervisor who would always offer advice and help when needed.
Before moving to the Friendly Home in 2005, she lived for ten years at St. Germain Manor where she was active in social events, and as a volunteer performing many duties, including delivering meals to homebound residents.
She leaves a son, Paul R. Allard of Salt Lake City, Utah; two granddaughters, Michelle Allard and Jennifer Wheelwright, and her husband Shane; a great grandson, Cody Wheelwright; and former daughter-in-law Denise Haymond; all of Utah. She is also survived by her sister, Sr. Lillianne Mandeville APS, Monastere du Precieux-Sang, St. Hyacinthe, Quebec. She leaves several cousins, including Blanche Sutherland of Woonsocket, and Sr. Adrienne Mandeville PM of Montreal. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, including Marquerite Fournier and Janice Mailloux, both of N. Smithfield.
Pauline loved to travel and was able to enjoy many trips over the years. Her warm and friendly manner, her quick wit and ever ready smile, will be miss by all who knew and loved her.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are prior to Mass from 8:30 - 9:30am. Donations to St. Ann's Art and Cultural Center in her memory would be appreciated
