Obituary

GLORIA D. (MILCH) TROWBRIDGE, a Hingham resident for over 50 years, died on Friday, July 25th, 2008 at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home. Mrs. Trowbridge was born, raised and educated in Jamaica Plain. She then graduated from The Elliot Pearson School of Tufts University and achieved her Master's Degree in Library Science at Simmons College. She was a teacher and librarian by profession and was associated with the children's libraries in both Braintree and Hingham. Mrs. Trowbridge also taught at the Wilder Memorial Nursery School in Hingham for many years. In addition, she was a past president of the Hingham Garden Club and was associated with the Fine Arts Chorale of Weymouth.

She was the wife of the late Newton C. Trowbridge and mother of Gloria T. Gammons of Brookline, Winthrop N. Trowbridge of Hollywood, FL, Wendy C. Olsson of Wallasey, Wirral, England, Leslie T. Yeadon of Malvern, PA, Eliot D. Trowbridge of Rockland, Jeannette T. Stebbins of Hadley and Newton C. Trowbridge, Jr. of Attleboro. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 12th at 2 PM at the Second Parish Church, 685 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham, MA 02043 where she was a faithful member for many years.

Visiting hours and flowers omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Second Parish Church or to the New England Wildlife Center, 500 Columbian St., So. Weymouth, MA 02190-1130.

The interment is to be private.
