WORCESTER: Robert R. Urbach, 61, of 20 King St, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, after a long illness.
He leaves his mother, Rita (Vaan) Urbach of Somers, NY; a brother, Ronald R. Urbach of New York City; a nephew and two nieces, Joshua, Kathryn, and Jennifer Urbach, all of Pawling, NY.
He was born in Ulm, Germany, son of the late Rudolph Urbach. He graduated from Littleton High School in Littleton, MA, and attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Bob was a boiler technician at Worcester County Hospital where he worked for about 10 years. He previously worked at Clark University for several years. Before that he worked for a brief time at Rutland Heights Hospital.
There are no calling hours. After cremation, the family is planning a private burial. The family suggests donations in memory of Bob be made to a charity dedicated to preserving nature.
