Martinez, GA – Barbara Pearson, 58, died peacefully at her home on July 26, 2008. She is survived he her husband Casey Pearson, her daughter Stacey Pearson and her son and his fiancé, Chip Pearson and Laura Detweiler. In addition, she is survived by four sisters, Patty Jacobberger, Ginny Miller, Judy Anderson, and Bev Johnson. She also leaves behind numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Originally from Minnesota, Barb moved to Augusta in 1981. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and played in the Bell Choir. She was also a charter member of West Creek Country Club, the Gross Sisters, and Gross Sister-Augusta. She was employed by Columbia County Board of Education as an educator at Riverside Elementary School working with first graders whom she missed dearly when she had to leave due to her battle with cancer.
The family will receive friends at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. on Wednesday July 30, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A memorial service will he held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 402 Aumond Rd., Augusta GA, on Thursday July 31, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Roger Schwartz officiating.
