Joseph V. Nolin, 76

Joseph V. Nolin, 76, of Norton formerly of Attleboro died on Monday July 28, 2008. He was the beloved husband of Veronica B. “Nikki” (Downey) Nolin to whom he was wed to on August 30, 1996.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on July 19, 1932 he was a son of the late Joseph a. and Bridget M. (Narkewich) Nolin.
He grew up in Pawtucket and Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro schools and also studied electrical engineering. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Nolin was a retired self-employed Machinist and Toolmaker and had formerly been employed at the L.G. Balfour Co. in Attleboro, Wells Manufacturing in Attleboro, Josten Jewelers in Attleboro, Plainville Machine Works in Plainville and at Water Associates in Milford.
An avid gardener, his other hobbies included building radio controlled boats and airplanes. He loved to travel and spend time with his brothers and sisters. Joe was also a former member of the Attleboro Lodge of Elks. He had made his home in Norton for the past 20 years and was a former longtime resident of Attleboro.
In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his children Carol Peters and her husband Robert of Dublin, Ohio, Regina Duby and her partner Sean Sumner of Attleboro, Joseph R. Nolin of Cranston, R.I., David Cantalupo of Kingston, R.I., Todd Cantalupo and his wife Kelly of Candia, N.H. and Mindy Matarazzo and her husband Richard of Laconia, N.H. He was the loving brother of Margaret “Margie” Carmichael and her husband Robert of Attleboro, Richard W. Nolin and his wife Janice of North Attleboro, Daniel Nolin and his wife Carlene of Plainville, Robert E. Nolin and his wife Shirley of Taunton, Virginia Johnson and her husband Roy of Attleboro, Suzanne Alegi and her husband Robert of Taunton and the late John C. Nolin and Dolores Bobola-Fundakowski, also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday August 2nd at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 133 South Worcester St. Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 1st from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
