Laurence William “Bill” Thompson, 78, of Norwich, passed away Sunday at Greentree Manor.
He was born on July 31, 1929 the son of Laurence E. and Mildred (Wells) Thompson.
In earlier years, he operated his own bread delivery route before working for several bakeries. He retired from Stoehman Bakery in 1991.
Bill is survived by his wife of 48 years, Haroldine (Scott) Thompson; his children, Robin T. Hauschild of Franklin, CT; Gail Dryja of Ellicott City, MD; and Laurence W. Thompson Jr. of Gales Ferry; his grandchildren, Eric W. Hauschild Jr. and Jeff Hauschild both of Franklin, Anna, Erin, and William Thompson of Gales Ferry, Jonathan Dryja and Natalie Dryja, both of Ellicot City, MD.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday at 11am. Burial at Elm Grove Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
