Obituary

Millie (Goodwin) Varner, 62, previously of Stoughton, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the loving wife of Fred Varner. Born in Boston, she was a graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorchester. Mrs. Varner was a proud member of the following organizations : The Ladies Auxiliary VFW 8892 of Avon, the Women's Auxiliary of the Brockton Veterans Fireman's Association, the Sons of Italy Alessandro Volta Lodge 1712, the Polish White Eagles of Brockton and was also a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 1645 of Stoughton. Mrs. Varner was also an acclaimed "domestic engineer."

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Laura Varner, Michael Varner and Pamela Varner all of Stoughton and Li Varner and her husband Gary of South Boston. She was the grandmother of John McGlynn III, Amanda Varner and Tommy Cargo Brennan. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Zimmerman of Quincy and her brothers George Goodwin of Saugus and Edward Goodwin of Canton. Mrs. Varner is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 30 at 9 AM followed by a funeral service at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Sumner St., Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
