Winifred Anne (Davis) Jackson, 82, of Brockton daughter of William and Elizabeth (Donahue) Davis and Henry “Tot” Canary, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family, July 23, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the dearly beloved wife of Donald A. Jackson for over 61 years; loving mother of Rita (Brunetti) Shores and her husband Dale of Bridgewater, William Jackson and his wife Michelle Atchison of Norfolk, VA, James Jackson and his wife Cathy of Bridgewater, Michael Jackson and his wife Martha of Flower Mound, TX and Dr. Timothy Jackson and his wife Jennifer of Toronto, Canada. She was the devoted grandmother of Jennifer, Christopher and Caitlin Shores, Daniel and Christine Jackson, Kelly, Kevin and Keith Jackson, Erin, Brendan and Colleen Jackson and Ryan and Morgan Sawyer. She was also the great grandmother of Daniel Ryan, Meghan and Mitchell Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson was a life-long resident of Brockton and a graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Jackson worked at the cosmetic counter at both Fraser’s and Jordan Marsh’s department stores. She was known as a popular Brockton woman and was named Miss Fraser in 1945. She had been a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was also an active, well known and respected communicant of Christ the King Parish where both Mr. and Mrs. Jackson enjoyed counseling engaged couples preparing for marriage.
Mrs. Jackson was a great storyteller, treasured spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed the beaches of Cape Cod. She lived every day to the fullest – sharing love, strength and endless energy, with a smile at every roadblock. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6pm.
