Blanche A. Johnson, 98, of Manchester, NH, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home in Manchester. Mrs. Johnson was born in Manchester on May 2, 1910, a daughter of the late Jan and Agnes (Kokoszka) Piecuch. She was a resident of Manchester for the past four years, formerly living in Bedford, NH for over 70 years. Mrs. Johnson had been employed as a millworker for Arms Textile Manufacturing in Manchester. She was a former member of the Ruth Chapter of the O.E.S., and a member of the Ladies Society of Holy Trinity Church in Manchester.
She is survived by her daughter, Marion Orgettas and her husband Nick of Bedford; her grandson, Kevin Verow and his wife Caroline of Bedford; and two great-grandsons, Zachary Verow and Nathan Verow both of Bedford. She was predeceased by her husband George D. Johnson in 1985.
A calling hour was held on Saturday July 26, 2008 from 9 - 10am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Goffstown, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Nursing Home, 235 Myrtle St., Manchester, NH 03104.
