Obituary

LOWELL--Catherine P. (Luskin) McCray, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Wednesday March 19th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center, in Lowell.

Mrs. McCray was born in Newton, on April 3, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Hill) Luskin. She was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1948. For 40 years she has made the Belvidere section of Lowell her home.

Before her retirement, Mrs. McCray was a Senior Buyer for Pollards Department Store, in Lowell; and had also been employed as a Bookkeeper at the Lowell Gas Company. She was a wonderful mother to her 4 children and a doting grandmother to her 2 grandsons. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was an avid gardener and loved Hampton Beach. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan as well as a member of the Barry Manilow Fan Club. She was an enthusiastic collector of souvenir bells.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Richard J. McCray, of Lowell; David W. and Rita McCray, of Merrimack, NH; a daughter and son-in-law: Martha and Christopher Bradford of Tolland, CT; two grandsons: Christopher and Matthew Bradford, of Tolland CT, a step-granddaughter: Erin St. Jean, of Sanford, ME; a step-grandson: David Hogan, of Merrimack, NH. She is also survived by her former husband: Richard W McCray of Malden; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley and Gus Iozzo, of Billerica; and Ann and Norman Marshall, of Hudson, MA; also several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCray was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Ann McCray, who died in 1977.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Friday, March 21st, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Saturday morning, March 22nd, at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
