Francis X. McKeone, 70, of Mattapoisett died March 19, 2003 at Windsor Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center after a long illness.
He was the former husband of Geraldine E. Hoyt of Revere, MA and son of the late Francis X. and Mae (McGrath) McKeone.
Mr. McKeone was born in Queens, NY, raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in upstate New York before moving to Mattapoisett in 1969.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Mattapoisett.
Mr. McKeone was formerly employed as a trust officer with Merchants Bank and South Shore National Bank and later was employed as a financial consultant.
He attended Fordham University, school of business, majoring in accounting before graduating Magna Cum Laude from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. While at Dartmouth College, he was elected Phi Beta Kappa; awarded high distinction in major. He later received his masters degree in economics from Northeastern University.
Mr. McKeone served in the US Navy and US Coast Guard during the Korean War.
Survivors include 2 sons, Francis X. McKeone, III, and his wife Kathleen, of South Yarmouth, MA and Myles L. McKeone, and his wife Kathryn, of Poland, NY; 7 grandchildren, Liam, Meghan, Myles, Jr., Misti, Marisa, Ashley and Bridget; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
He was the brother of the late Mary Crooks.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett Friday, March 21st at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 9 AMRelatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
