Mr. Robert E. Johnson Jr., age 62 of Medford, formerly of Lexington died suddenly on Saturday July 10 in Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford. He was the husband of Carol (Sweetland) Johnson with whom he spent more than 17 years of marriage.
Born in Cambridge, son of Robert Johnson Sr. and the late Marie (Powers) Johnson, he was raised in Lexington and is a graduate of Lexington High School, class of 1964.
Mr. Johnson worked assisting the elderly and senior citizens of the community. He was always available to lend a hand or run an errand when needed. He enjoyed shopping at flea markets, movies and was an avid reader.
In addition to his wife and father, he leaves 2 sons, Robert E. Johnson III of Attleboro, Kenneth Johnson of Cranston RI. and a daughter Kerri Johnson of Everett. Also survived by 15 loving grandchildren. Dear brother of John Johnson of Groton, Keven Johnson of Gardner and Karen M. Faria of Kingston NH.
A graveside service will be held in Westview Cemetery in Lexington on Friday, August 1, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in Robert’s name may be sent to American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
