Obituary

Princeton—Joan Fraser McCullough, 60, of Mirick Road, died at home on Saturday, March 15th, after an interesting, lengthy journey with colon cancer.

Joan leaves her husband of 38 years, Robert B. McCullough of Princeton; a daughter and son, Bonnie F. McCullough and Stephan Nezuch of Fitchburg; a son and daughter, John W. McCullough and Cynthia McCullough of Princeton; a daughter, Julie G. McCullough of Cambridge; a sister, Roberta Belk of Clinton; a granddaughter, Kearney Rose McCullough of Princeton; and many nieces and nephews. A son, Robert B. McCullough, Jr., died October 30, 2000.

She was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Annie (Robertson) Fraser of Worcester. Born and raised in Worcester, Princeton was her home for 34 years. Joan graduated from South High School Worcester and attended Quinsigamond Community College. Joan was employed at Allmerica Financial for almost 20 years. Most recently in Estate and Business Planning. She enjoyed challenges and anything computer related.

Joan was an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester and the cancer support group at Memorial Hospital. She had been a Cadette Girl Scout leader and considered herself a lifelong Scout. Joan was an enthusiastic soccer fan, rock collector, traveler, and cook. She especially enjoyed fussing over her family. Joan’s “dance on the edge of chaos” was an affirmation of her life.

A Memorial Service celebrating Joan’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 90 Holden Street, Worcester. Those attending are encouraged to bring a small rock/stone as a contribution to a remembrance cairn planned by her family. A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service. Calling hours will be held from 5-8 on Wednesday, March 19, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, (NordgrenMemorialChapel.com), 300 Lincoln St., Worcester. Please omit flowers.
