RALPH YEREMIAN of Burlington, formerly a long time resident of Medford and beloved husband of Elizabeth P. “Betty” (Yacubian) died at his home in Burlington on Thursday, July 17, 2008, following a lengthy illness. He was 86 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 6, 1922, he was the beloved son of the late Jacob K. and Mary (Kerorkian) Yeremian. Mr. Yeremian was a WWII Navy Pilot, entering the military at Boston on December 15, 1942 and receiving honorable discharge from Boston, on December 9, 1945. While in the military, Mr. Yeremian attained the rank of Lieutenant and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, two Gold Stars, the Asiatic Pacific Star, the Philippine Liberation Star and the American Theater Ribbon. He was employed by Mirak Chevrolet as General Sales Manager for many years and was the owner and operator of the Bunker Hill Market for 20 years. Mr. Yeremian was a 60 year member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was a Mason for many years at the former Mt. Hermon Lodge in Medford.
Besides his beloved wife, Betty, Mr. Yeremian will be sorely missed by one loving son; Ralph Yeremian, Jr. of San Francisco, California, two daughters and two sons-in-law; Jane P. and her husband, Eddie McElhiney of Medford and Janet Y. and her husband, Dana Cresta of North Reading, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service was celebrated in the First Baptist Church, Oakland Street, Medford, Thursday at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
