Steven C. Allen, 40, of New Bedford died Monday July 21, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital from complications from cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Dianne Johnson of New Bedford and the late Franklin A. Allen, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. Allen was employed as a shore engineer for Fleet Fisheries in New Bedford.
He loved his family, his dogs, camping, and the waterfront.
Survivors include his mother; his life companion, Cookie DeBarros of New Bedford; two sisters, Virginia Vinjerud of Fairhaven, and Lynn Wright of Mattapoisett; two brothers, Franklin A. Allen and Martin Johnson, both of New Bedford; his daughters, Jennifer DeBarros of Florida and Tiffany DeBarros of Connecticut; his grandchildren, Treasean Branco, Tieriek Branco, and Ayah Andrade; his grandfather, Delphis Cormier of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 PM prior to the Service. Burial will be private.
