Carmen M. Mongiello, died peacefully at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford on March 17, 2003. He was 85 years of age.He was born in East Boston on March 5, 1918, a son of the late Joseph M. and Concetta (Rizzo) Mongiello. Carmen was raised and educated in Chelsea, graduating from Chelsea High School, Class of 1936. He was a Medford resident for the past 19 years and a communicant of St. Raphael’s Church. Carmen was employed as an inspector in the small aircraft division of the General Electric of Lynn for 37 years until his retirement in 1982.He is survived by his beloved wife Clara M. (Gargano) Mongiello of Medford. Devoted father of Constance and her husband William Regan of Medford, Jean and her husband Michael Sullivan of Milton, and Joseph and his wife Cathy Mongiello of Tewksbury. Cherished brother of the late Josephine Olivero and Grace Pantano. Caring grandfather of six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, MEDFORD, Thursday at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphael’s Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
