
METHUEN – Morris L. Panebianco, 88 of Methuen, MA and Port Richey, Florida died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was born in Lawrence, the son of Morris and Margaret (Zambino) Panebianco.
Morris was a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1938. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1938, along with his lifelong friend, Kenneth Reader who currently resides in North Andover. He was one of the original planksmen on the U.S.S. Bataan and attended several Bataan reunions over the past three years. Morris served his country proudly for 37 years and was the recipient of the Good Conduct, American Defense, European Theatre, American Theatre, Victory, and the Asiatic Pacific medals during his distinguished career. He also owned and operated an automotive business in Methuen for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his family and many lifelong friendships in both Methuen and Port Richey.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Louise C. (Cutroneo) of Methuen and Port Richey, FL, 3 Daughters, Margaret and her husband Dennis Thibault, Barbara and her husband David Blanchette , Lynda and her husband Salvatore Petralia, all of Methuen. A sister, Madeline Ouellet of Lawrence and a brother, Louis Panebianco of Salem, NH. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Jill Thibault, Amy Ganguly MD, Nicholas and Christian Petralia, Jami, Joshua, Jennifer, and Brian Shamberger and 2 great grandchildren, Sam and Anna Ganguly. Morris was predeceased by his sister Mary Barnes.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the Families request there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday July, 21, 2008 at 10:30a.m at St. Monica’s Church. Burial will take place at a later date at the family’s convenience.
