New Bedford, Arthur “Archie” Nunes age 77 years died peacefully in his sleep July 16th 2008. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Carbonneau) Nunes who died January 20th of this year, loving father of Doreen Rose and her husband Donald of New Bedford, grandfather of Tracy Rose and her fiance Michael Horton of New Bedford. Archie was the great-grandfather of Tyler and Marissa. the brother of Joseph and his wife Jeanette Nunes of Acushnet and the late Mary Nunes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Archie was a son of the late John and Mary (Gomes) Nunes. He was born in New Bedford and lived in this area all of his life, a bread mixer for My Bread Baking Company until his retirement. He was U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.
