East Hampstead, New Hampshire – Carol Mary (Quigley) Getchell, 75, died peacefully at her home with her husband Albert of 50 years, by her side
Carol was born in Methuen on April 26, 1933 and lived there most of her life, she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Carney) Quigley. Carol was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School class of “1950”.
She unselfishly dedicated her time and love to raising her 12 children and 28 grandchildren, and one greatgrandchild.
Carol enjoyed cooking, sewing, trips to the beach and traveling with her husband.
Carol was a devout parishioner of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen.
Besides her husband she is survived by children; Mary Jo Brandy and husband William of Salem, NH, Carole A. Thompson and husband Thomas, of Methuen, Sandee M. Kopp and husband William of Methuen, Donna R. Tulley and husband Matthew of East Hampstead, NH, 7 son’s Scott Getchell and wife Gloria of Laconia, NH, Stephen Getchell of Salem, NH, Jeffrey Getchell and wife Phyllis of Methuen, Albert Getchell and wife Francesca of Salem, NH, Timothy Getchell and wife Emily of Methuen, Leonard Getchell and wife Dawn also of Methuen and Daniel Getchell and wife Jennifer of Hampstead, NH, one brother Raymond Quigley of Virginia, two sisters Marguerite McCann of North Andover, and Dolores Connor of Nottingham, NH, 28 grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her son Gregory, and brothers Bernard, William, Donald, and Paul Quigley, and her sister Gloria Adkins.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday morning at 10:30 A.M. in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
