Richard A. Eckert, Jr., 21, of Medford, passed away on July 15th, 2008. He was born in Malden on January 3rd, 1987 to his parents Barbara (DeCourcey) and Richard A. Eckert. Richard was raised and educated in Medford, graduating from Medford Vocational High School in 2005. He was an avid skier who also enjoyed sports, motorcycles and most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his godson Nicholas. Richard is survived by his parents, Barbara (DeCourcey) and Richard A. Eckert of Medford; his sisters Siobhan and Erin Eckert of Medford; his nephew and godson Nicholas; and by his grandmother Catherine Eckert of Hyannis. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles and many cousins. Richard was predeceased by his grandparents John and Mary DeCourcey. Relatives & friends are invited to attend funeral services from the A.J. Breslin & Son Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden at Medford line on Saturday July 19th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 18th from 4-9 PM.
