Obituary

E. Rene Foster, 85
A resident of Pelham, NH, formerly of Clearwater, FL, and Salem, NH. Rene passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 13th, after a courageous battle with cancer. E. Rene Foster was born in Lawrence and was educated in the Lawrence, MA Public school system and was a graduate of the class of 1941. In high school he was a Track Star Athlete for four years. Rene's charming personality and loving ways brought sunshine to all he met. He will be sorely missed and we will continue to feel his radiating love forever, as Rene would say "Love goes on."

Words could never describe what a great man he was and he will leave an empty space in many people's hearts. Rene was an avid sports fan, of all sports. He enjoyed playing golf, ping-pong, and cards; he was also a passionate reader. E. Rene Foster was a devoted family man, and was very proud of all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Foster was a man of faith and was an attendant of Saint Patrick's Parish in Pelham, NH. In past years he served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph's Parish in Salem, NH. He was a well known, well liked automobile sales man, for many years in the local area. Rene was eagerly awaiting the birth of his tenth great-grandchild. Rene enjoyed life, had a wonderful sense of humor, and always managed to put a smile on someone's face with his wit.

Members of Rene's family include, his devoted, loving wife Marion of sixty years, his children, Joyce and her Husband Dennis Habib and their children with whom he resided, Daughter Ruth Lavigne and her husband Norman of Nashua, NH, also his son William and his wife Sue of Port Charlotte, FL. He is also survived by a former daughter-in-law Susan Christopher Foster. He is also survived by a former son-in-law Joseph Kenney of Cape Cod, MA. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren William Foster, Jr., and his wife Cynthia of East Hampton, Conn., Joseph J. Kenney and his wife Kristin of Concord, NH, Brad Foster and his wife Elaine of Manchester, NH, James J. Kenney and his wife Karen of Manchester, NH,
Lauren Habib Melia and her husband Sean of Pelham, NH, Lyndsey B. Habib of Pelham, NH and her best Friend Marc Melia of Pelham, NH. He also has nine great-grandchildren, Francesca, Alixandria, Seth, Patrick Kenney, also, Bryce, Cameron Foster, and Logan, Madyn, and Quinn Kenney. He is survived by his sister-in-law Barbara Frederick of Peoria, AZ. He is also survived by his godchildren: Marion Frederick Vanasse of Great Barrington, MA and Robert Foster of Methuen, MA. and a Close family friend and cousin Robert Topping of Milford, MA.
Rene is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice Services for their dedicated love and devoted care. Specifically Theresa Timura, RN.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Church in Pelham, New Hampshire.

Burial will follow at the Saint Mary's Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
