Raymond Freitas, 71, of New Bedford died July 11, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Beverly (Augustine) Freitas.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio and Virginia (Fernandes) Freitas, he lived in New Bedford all his life.
Mr. Freitas was a communicant of St. Joseph- St. Therese Church.
He was a Boston RedSox fan.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Michael Freitas and his wife Kim of Cape Cod, and Kevin Raymond Freitas of Bristol, CT; 3 brothers, Manuel Freitas and his wife Elsie and August Freitas and his wife Helen, all of Florida, Daniel Freitas and his wife Shirley of California; a sister, Deolinda Freitas of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Frank Freitas, Antone Freitas, Joseph Freitas, John Freitas, Celeste Souza, Mary Arthur and Alice Mello.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday, July 14th at 8:15 PM. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church at 9:15 PM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, July 13th from 5-8 PM.
