Methuen, Ma. - Maria DoCarmo (Pimental) Fontes, 74, died July 7, 2008 at Methuen Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in the Azores, Portugal, Maria was the daughter of Jose and Angelina Pimental. She resided in Cambridge for many years and she was an Attendant of Saint Anthony’s Church in Cambridge, and in Lawrence attended Sts Peter & Paul Church prior to its closing.
She had been a factory worker for many years with Hyde Shoe Company in Cambridge.
Maria was the widow of Manuel Fontes.
She is survived by three children: Manuel & his wife Adriana Fontes, Lucia & her husband Jose Bolarinho, and Rosa & her husband Valdemar Estevan, many sisters and brothers, 8 grandchildren, one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Friends are invited to pay there respects on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
