Mrs. Ione Cleghorn Tucker, 87, of Irwin County, died Friday, July 4 at the Osceola Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, July 6 at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Elder Chad O’Quinn, Elder Rabon Lord and Elder Jamey Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Tucker was born April 20, 1921 in Ben Hill County to the late Marion J. and Zelley Parks Cleghorn. She was a homemaker and lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Tucker was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club, a member of the Waterloo Homemakers Club and a member of Eureka Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Dwight & JoAnn Tucker of Fitzgerald and LaDon & Vivien Tucker of Irwin County; grandchildren, Chris Tucker, Dewey Tucker and Joseph Tucker; brother, Cody Cleghorn of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Ada Aldridge of Melbourne, Fl, Lillian Hudson and Nellie Mull both of Byron. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tucker, grandson, Jason Tucker, two sisters and one brother.
