O'BRIEN, Timothy V., "TV". Of Malden, formerly of Somerville, July 2nd. Devoted father of Timothy P. O'Brien and his wife Janie of Essex Junction, Vermont, Christine Arigo and her husband Ronald, Jennifer Rose and Kara O'Brien all of Peabody. Former husband of Jane F. (Doody) O'Brien of Henderson, NV. Brother of Joseph O'Brien of Wichita Falls, Texas, Helen Currier of Needham and Kathleen Bush of Hungry Horse, Montana. Cherished grandfather of Carolyn, Sarina, Madison and Jillian. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, MALDEN on Monday morning, July 7th at 9 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, MALDEN on Sunday afternoon from 2-6 PM. Committal Services are Private. Retired employee of the Boston Globe and member of Pressman's Local # 3. Expressions of sympathy in Tim's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
Born in Somerville and a resident of Malden for many years, Tim passed away lateWednesday evening at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief bout with cancer. A retired Boston Globe pressman, he started his career at the Boston Record American in the 60's and then transferred to the Boston Globe. In additional to being an avid golfer he was an active worker for the United Fund One Percent Club and a member of the Stream and Forest and the Boston Globe 25 Year Club. Deeply devoted to his children, grandchildren, family and friends, Tim O'Brien was blessed with an amazing memory and interest in people. If he met you once, he would soon know all about you and your family. His loyalty and interest were expressed in many ways. The devotion, love and personality of this unique man will be sorely missed.
