Obituary

DARTMOUTH — Albert Winslow Nickerson died Tuesday, June 24th, at his home in South Dartmouth. He was 68 years old.

Born in Boston, the son of the late Albert Lindsay Nickerson and Elizabeth Perkins Nickerson of Lincoln, Massachusetts, Mr. Nickerson was an avid ornithologist and a lifelong member of the American Audubon Society.

A graduate of Harvard College, where he was president of the Harvard Mountaineering Club, Mr. Nickerson also received an MBA at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

In his early years, he worked for Lockheed Aircraft, Chase Manhattan Bank and Fidelity Investment Corporation. He was then employed at Manomet Bird Observatory for many years as a Staff Biologist and a seabird and marine mammal observer off the East Coast of the United States and Canada. Recently, Mr. Nickerson was very involved with the Mass. Audubon's Allen Pond Project in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts.

Survivors include his sisters, Christine Morgen of Weisbaden, Germany, Elizabeth Davis of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts and Victoria Tabor of Acton, Massachusetts. He is also survived by four nieces and two nephews.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Massachusetts Audubon's Allen's Pond Wildlife Sanctuary at 1280 Horseneck Road, South Dartmouth, Massachusetts 02748.

There will be a Memorial Service held at St. Aidan's Chapel, 185 Smith Neck Road, South Dartmouth, Massachusetts on Sunday, August 10th at 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
