Helen T. (Kennedy) John, 68, of Mattapoisett died Tuesday March 11, 2003 at home. She was the wife of the late Dr. George R. John, and daughter of the late John and Nora (Knightly) Kennedy.
Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, she moved to New Bedford in 1961 and had lived in Mattapoisett since 1974.
She was a graduate of Boston State Teachers College.
Survivors include a son, Christopher M. John of Norton; 2 daughters, Cathleen A. Bruno of Freetown and Suzanne M. John of Boston; 2 brothers, Dr. Thomas Kennedy of Meriden, Conn., and John Kennedy of Holbrook; a sister, Marie Young of Braintree; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Saturday March 15, 2003 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Anthony's Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday March 14, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford.
