WESTFORD - Jennie (Meiciecka) Ferron, 96, of Westford, formerly of Dracut for many years, died Thursday evening in the Westford House Nursing Care Center, Westford. She was the wife of the late John Ferron who predeceased her in 1989.
Born in Poland on August 3, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Marcella (Makowska) Meicieka. She immigrated to this country at the age of two and received her education in the Lowell school system.
In her early years she worked as a stitcher in the Boot Mills. More recently and prior to her retirement she was employed by Lowell General Hospital in their housekeeping department.
In her free time she enjoyed walking and playing cards.
Surviving her are two daughters and sons-in-law Patricia and David Cobleigh of Westford and Janet and Pete Martin of Dracut; one son and daughter-in-law William and Celena Ferron of Salem, NH; six grandchildren Mark and Scott Cobleigh, Lynda Martin, Peter Martin and his wife Kim, Lisa Andrusaitis and her husband Greg and Tracey Marcotte and her husband Alan; and two great grandchildren Sierra Madison and Logan Aspen Marcotte. She was also the sister of the late John Meiciecka.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Church, High St., Lowell. Interment in Richardson Cemetery, Dracut.
