LOWELL—Elizabeth M. (Matthews) Mullaney, 90 years old, died Wednesday March 5th, at the Blaire House of Tewksbury, after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Mullaney, who died in June of 1970.
She was born in North Berwick, ME, on August 19, 1912, a daughter of the late Everett C. and Carrie U. (Perkins) Matthews, and was a graduate of North Berwick High School.
Mrs. Mullaney was employed as a Telephone Operator by New England Telephone and Telegraph for over 35 years. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Surviving her are a step-daughter: Louise Hayden, of Norwood; two sisters-in-law: Muriel Matthews, of Redondo Beach, CA; and Ruth Matthews, of Berwick, ME; and a nephew: Michael Matthews, of Virginia.
