Joseph “Flippo” Peppe, of Medford, a former North Ender died Thursday at Life Care Center, Stoneham where he had been a resident for four years. He was 91.
Mr. Peppe was born in North Walpole, NH, and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Joseph and the late Carmela (D´Amore) Peppe. Flippo lived in the North End for many years where he operated the Hanover Smoke Shop before his retirement. A Medford resident for over 50 years, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
He was the beloved husband of the late Antoinette (DiNunzio) Peppe. He was a devoted father to Joseph Peppe and his wife Bernadette of Medford, Ciriaco “Jerry” Peppe, of ME, Carol Grassia and her husband William of Medford, Henry Peppe of Everett, Martin Peppe and his wife Lois of Medford and Lisa Peppe of Chelsea. Lovingly survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Carmella Masciso of W. Roxbury and Laura Montemagno of Fla.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 11:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Saturday morning from 8 to 11:30. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
