Mrs. Helen Eileen (Poverchuk) Euzukonis, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late George Arthur Euzukonis, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital on June 24, 2008. She was 81 years old.
Born in Medford, Massachusetts, she was a beloved daughter of the late Hudnut and Julia (Jamber) Poverchuk. She was a graduate of the Medford High School, class of 1945. Helen was a loving homemaker, always tending to her families needs. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and bird watching in her yard. She also was an avid reader.
She will be sorely missed by one loving daughter and one son-in-law; Susan G. and her husband John M. Poverchuk of Medford, one son; George S. Euzukonis of Medford, four cherished sisters; Irene Yancowsky of Weston and Mary Poverchuk and Katherine Poverchuk both of Medford and Julia Norris of Valparaiso, Indiana, one brother; Joseph Poverchuk, of Medford, three cherished grandchildren; Jennifer, Amanda and Alex Poverchuk, one dear great-granddaughter; Amanda Ray Huntley and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John Poverchuk and Anna Magnanti.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
