Obituary

Stanley J. Fabian, 86, of Bellingham, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the devoted husband of Frances (Harrison) Fabian for 54 years.

Stan was a lifelong resident of Bellingham and was a graduate of Bentley College. Before his retirement, he was an accountant for Powder Hill Estates for most of his life. He was a WWII Marine veteran and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Serving for four years, his tour included seven islands in the Pacific.

Stan was a devoted and loyal servant of St. Brendan’s Church in Bellingham volunteering in many capacities over the years and served as the clerk of the works for the construction of the parish hall.

Stan enjoyed carpentry and fishing and was an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed trips to the casino with Fran and looked forward to their annual family trip to the Balsam’s. In his later years, he took pride in being a loving grandfather to Elizabeth, Jessica and Jonathan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by; a daughter, Kathy Monroe and her husband, Brad of Millville, a son, Michael Fabian and his wife, Kathy of Uxbridge, a sister, Helen Rosborough of Natick, and two brothers, Walter Fabian of Quincy and Chester Purdy of TX.

He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Charlie Atteridge, his close friend, Fr. Daniel J. Gilmartin and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday, June 27 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St., Medway at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan’s Church in North Bellingham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uxbridge.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan’s memory to St. Brendan’s Church Bldg. Fund, 382 Hartford Ave., N. Bellingham, MA 02019.
