WORCESTER - Frederick C. Mitchell, 80, of 331 Greenwood Street, a World War II veteran died Saturday, March 8 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after an illness.
He leaves his wife of over 50 years, Doris L. (Boulay) Mitchell; two sons Frederick Mitchell of Townsend and James Mitchell of Worcester; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of George and Ellen (Nuthall) Mitchell and lived here all his life.
Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
He worked for O'Leary Transportation as a driver retiring in 1990.
The funeral service and burial will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at 11 AM in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
