Kilburn, Robert E. Of Needham, June 22, 2008. Devoted husband of 53 years to Irmeli and loving father of Eric and his wife Kate Crosby of Acton, Dan of Cambridge, Kristina and her husband Kelt Naylor of East Dummerston, Vermont, and Will of Boston. Loving brother of Janet Blanchfield of Wilmington, Delaware and the late William Kilburn. Also survived by six grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his friend and caregiver Maria Coelho. Lifelong student as well as teacher of science at Boston University, the Newton public schools, and many others through his co-authorship of a series of science textbooks. Memorial service to be held in the fall at First Parish in Needham.
