Catherine Meyer Tucker, 82, of the West Berrien Community died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Berrien County Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Wayside Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Smith Gentry will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Tucker was born on June 16, 1926 in Nashville and was the daughter of Herman Meyer and Betty Pitts Meyer, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Mack Tucker. She was a librarian at Perry Memorial Library for 17 years and a member of Wayside Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Van and Gayle Tucker of Alapaha, and Scott and Debbie Tucker of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and James Oliver of Apopka, Florida; two sisters, Pete Sizemore of Avon Park, Florida, and Hermie Harvey of Middleburg, Florida; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
