Malcolmson, Ruth Ann (Fitzpatrick), age 67, died peacefully at her residence on March 9, 2003.
She was born in Boston, on May 15, 1935, a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Margaret (Crowley) Fitzpatrick. She has been a resident of Medford for 17 years formerly of Arlington and Charlestown. Ruth was employed as a secretary for Lahey Clinic for 16 years. She is a communicant of St. Eulalia’s Church in Winchester and was an devoted mother and grandmother, spending time with her family and babysitting. She will be sorely missed.
Ruth is the beloved wife of 46 years of John J. Malcolmson, Sr. whom she married on June 2, 1956 at St. Mary’s in Boston.
Besides her husband John, Ruth is survived by four children, Diane M. Malcolmson and her husband George R. Henman of Belmont, Karen and her husband Robert Hurley of Newburyport, Laurie R. Malcolmson of Belmont and the late John J. Malcolmson, Jr. She is the dear sister of John Fitzpatrick and William and his wife Margaret Fitzpatrick, all of Charlestown and Mary Smallwood of Wakefield. Cherished grandmother of Alexander, Julia, Marshall, Olivia, Sarah, and Caleb.
Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge Street, Winchester, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
