Ethel Tinkham Apperson, 85, of Mattapoisett, passed away Monday, June 16 at Sippican Health Care, after a period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Earl and Minnie Tinkham and the wife of the late Walter Apperson, Jr.
A lifelong resident of Mattapoisett who enjoyed spending time in North Carolina, Mrs. Apperson was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. She is survived by her son, Alan Apperson and his wife Patty of Mattapoisett and a daughter, Ann Hammer and her husband Leo of Asheboro, North Carolina. She is also survived by her twin brother, Howard Tinkham and his wife Nancy and her sister, Marion Roberts, all of Mattapoisett. Ethel was a devoted "Grammer" to Rory and Andrew Apperson, Jennifer Hulin, Christian Hammer and Rachel Leonard and her eight great-grandchildren, Eli Apperson, Halie Hulin, Spencer and Preston Hammer, Stephen, Nathan, Rebekah and Zachary Leonard.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 20th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Her family will receive guests on Friday morning from 9 AM - 11 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in Cushing Cemetery.
