Rose May (Furtado) Oliveira, age 96 of 820 Wilson Rd., Fall River. Widow of Anthony Oliveira & daughter of the late Joseph Carreira Furtado and Maria (Pacheco Torres) Furtado. Passed away June 15, 2008. Born in Tiverton, she moved to Fall River at age 19. She was a weaver in Fall River and also worked for a jewelry manufacturer in RI. She retired from the Fall River Jewish Home.
She is survived by 1 son: William Joseph Oliveira of Tiverton; 2 daughters: Delores Medeiros of Fall River & Eileen Medeiros of S. Windsor, CT; 14 grandchildren, many great & great great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews & dear friend Lillian Viveiros. She was mother of the late Joseph Oliveira Jr. & Robert Oliveira & sister of the late Manuel, Joseph, Antone & Frank Furtado, Bella Isaaca, Irene Fernandes, Julia Vachon, Annie Case, Diana Cahill, Mary Isadore, Lizzie Roy & Rita Pennyelo.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday with a service in the funeral home at 10 A.M. Calling hours Friday 4-8 P.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
