Rocco F. “Rocky” Novello, 72 of Medway, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick after a brief illness. He was the husband of Linda L. (Butterfield) Novello for the past 23 years.
Born in Boston on November 16, 1935, he was a son of the late Tino and Viola (Saccardo) Novello. Mr. Novello was raised in Charlestown and had lived in Worcester until moving to Medway in 1985.
Mr. Novello was the owner and operator of Novello General Contractors for 43 years. He was a member of the former St. Catherine’s Church in Charlestown.
Mr. Novello enjoyed spending time with his wife and family and vacationing in Aruba and Saratoga, NY with his many friends. He was a great friend to many and was known for his kind spirit and generosity and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Marie McDonald of Malden and he was the father of the late Robert Novello.
He is also survived by his loving family, Joseph and Michael McDonald of Malden, Mary Williams of Charlestown, Viola Siriani and her husband, Louis of Revere, Tino Novello and his wife, Catherine of Saugus, Christian Hodgdon and her husband, David and their son, Allen of Medway, Laura and Ashley Novello of Foxboro, Frank and David Williams, Kim and Tino Novello, Sandra Bonacorso and Louis Siriani.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway on Wednesday, June 18 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 111 Exchange St. in Millis at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 p.m.
