...retired U.S. Postal Service Supervisor; (67)
OCALA, FL - Richard R. Toscano, age 67,a long time resident of Belmont, MA, Tewksbury, MA
and Londonderry, NH, died Friday, June 13, at his home after lengthy and courageous battle with
cancer. He was the husband of Rosemary (Chambers) Toscano, with whom he had celebrated a
34th wedding anniversary this past November 9th.
He was born in Boston on May 19, 1941, one of eight children of Joseph and Josephine (Grecco)
Toscano. He was raised in Belmont, and graduated from Belmont High School. He lived the
greater part of his life in Belmont, Londonderry, and Tewksbury, before moving to Ocala in 2002.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Navy. He served his sea duty aboard the U.S.S.
Franklin D. Roosevelt, aircraft carrier.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Supervisor in the Manchester, NH, office.
He was a member of the Belmont, MA, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Waverly Post 1272, the
American Legion Post 27 in Londonderry, NH, and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2356 in
Ocala.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Laura Toscano of St. Augustine, FL,
Tammy-Jean Blanchard of Ocala, FL, and Daneen Finn of Seabrook, NH; four grandchildren,
Michael Keill, and Christopher Keill both of Belmont, Edward Finn, U.S. Navy, and Jennifer-Rose
Blanchard of Seabrook, NH; a great granddaughter, Destinee Mateo; a brother, Eddy Toscano
and his wife Elaine of Billerica; three sisters, Diane Gaudette and her husband Ronald of
Belmont, Theresa DeNutte and her husband Robert of Wakefield, Guilda Naranjio and her
husband Charles of Natick; a sister-in-law, Joanne Toscano of Haverhill,MA; and many nieces
and nephews.
He was also brother of the late Dorothy Petrowicz, Ralph Toscano, Carol Collins and Carl
Toscano.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, June 19, in St. William's
Church, Tewksbury. Burial with Navy Honors followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, No.
Tewksbury. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 will
be appreciated.
