Obituary

NORTH OXFORD__Stephen Kuizinas, 51 passed away Wednesday June 11 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester after a 28 year battle with multiple sclerosis.

He leaves his parents, Charles F. and Ruth M. (Dupont) Kuizinas, three brothers, Joseph P. Kuizinas of Oxford; Charles J. Kuizinas and his wife Mary of Gardner and Paul J. Kuizinas and his wife, Rosie of California; a sister, Jean M. Planet of Brookfield; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins. He was born August 17, 1956 in Worcester and was a 1974 graduate of Burncoat High School. He attended Worcester State College and later graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute earning a degree in mechanical engineering.

Stephen worked early on at Parker Manufacturing and later at Flight Corp. in New Haven, CT., as a mechanical engineer. When he was young he enjoyed the outdoors along with photography, target shooting, baseball and football. He especially enjoyed astronomy. The family would like to thank the Visiting Nurse Association’s dedicated staff for their many years of kind help and support for Stephen in his long struggle with MS.

The funeral will be held on Saturday June 14, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casmir Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Saturday June 14 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions in Stephen’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
